Job Purpose
To perform accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial reports, and ensure that all financial transactions comply with company policies, procedures, and applicable accounting standards and tax regulations.
Responsibilities
- Record and verify daily financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Prepare and review journal entries, payment vouchers, receipts, and other accounting documents.
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and perform account reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Reconcile bank statements and investigate discrepancies.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable and ensure timely settlement of outstanding balances.
- Verify invoices, purchase orders, payment requests, and supporting documents before processing payments.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, cash flow reports, and financial forecasts.
- Ensure proper documentation, filing, and safeguarding of financial records.
- Support the preparation of tax declarations and ensure timely compliance with applicable tax requirements.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Monitor advances, staff claims, and outstanding balances and follow up on their settlement.
- Support internal and external audits by providing the required financial documents and explanations.
- Identify accounting errors, discrepancies, and control weaknesses and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data entered into the company’s ERP or accounting system.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, bank reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and tax compliance.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, integrity, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines.
