Job Summary
The Café Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily café operations, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining product quality, and supervising café staff. The role includes managing the service floor, coordinating shifts, handling inventory, ensuring health and safety compliance, and supporting sales and customer satisfaction goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate café staff, baristas, and service attendants during shifts.
- Ensure high standards of customer service, cleanliness, and hospitality.
- Monitor food and beverage preparation to maintain consistent quality and taste.
- Manage opening and closing duties including cash reconciliation and sales reporting.
- Maintain adequate stock levels, conduct inventory counts, and report supply needs.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to enhance performance.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and resolve service issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace operational standards.
- Assist in implementing promotions, product displays, and upselling strategies.
- Monitor equipment functionality and report maintenance needs.
- Support scheduling and shift planning to ensure smooth service flow.
- Control operational costs by minimizing waste and monitoring staff efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Tourism, Food Service, or related field (preferred but not mandatory).
- Minimum 2+ years of café, restaurant, or food service experience, including supervisory duties.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Basic knowledge of POS systems and sales reporting.
- Understanding of café menu items, drinks, food handling, and presentation.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and maintain service consistency.
- Flexible working early mornings, weekends, and extended hours as needed.
