Currently, Horra Corporate Group business portfolio includes coffee and oil seeds export, coffee plantation, automotive assembly, import and distribution, propylene technology manufacturing, technology, real estate development and transit and forwarding. Currently, Horra Corporate Group is led by the CEO, Mr. Adm Kedir, and by qualified and experienced professionals, with 550 permanent staff members and 800 temporary workers working in the corporate office and in different business units.

We are currently looking for a General Foreman who will oversee the company construction projects.

Purpose of the Job:

The General  Foreman will oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities. The General Foreman will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest standard of safety and quality.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

         Lead, supervise and coordinate the work of site employee, including trades people and subcontractors.

         Ensure all team members understand project goals, timelines, and safety protocols.

         Provide training, guidance and support to junior staff and workers as needed.

         Oversee daily construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.

         Interpret construction drawings, blueprints and specifications.

         Schedule and coordinate the delivery and use of materials, tools, and equipment’s.

         Inspect work performed to ensure it meets standards and codes.

         Maintain accurate records of work progress and site activities.

         Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.

         Liaise with engineers, architects, and other projects stakeholders.

         Communicate effectively with suppliers and subcontractors to maintain workflow and resolve issues.

         Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly progress reports to site supervisor.

         Identify potential delays or problems and recommend practical solution.

         Adapt to unexpected changes in project scope, weather or site construction.

 

Job Qualification

·        Education Qualification: Level IV in Construction Works or other relevant and similar technical qualifications.

  • Work Experience: At least 8 (eight) years of working experience in construction with a proven track record in supervisory skill.

  • Proven expertise in all-around construction practices, including concrete works, masonry, carpentry, plumbing, roofing and finishes.

o   Ability to read an interpret technical drawings and specifications.
