Job Summary

The Senior Auto Electrician is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing advanced automotive electrical and electronic systems, with a strong focus on Electric Vehicles (EVs). The role ensures optimal performance, safety, and reliability of EV and automotive electrical systems in line with manufacturer standards. The position also plays a key role in mentoring junior technicians, supporting after-sales operations, and ensuring efficient use of diagnostic tools and ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of EV electrical systems, including high-voltage batteries, electric motors, inverters, onboard chargers, wiring harnesses, and control units.

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of automotive electrical and electronic systems using OEM diagnostic tools and software.

  • Ensure safe handling, testing, and isolation of high-voltage EV systems in compliance with international and local safety standards.

  • Install, inspect, and maintain vehicle electrical components such as sensors, ECUs, lighting systems, infotainment systems, and charging interfaces.

  • Maintain detailed service records, diagnostics, and parts usage using the ERP system.

  • Provide technical leadership and on-the-job training to junior auto electricians and technicians.

  • Support after-sales teams in resolving complex customer complaints and warranty-related electrical issues.

  • Monitor emerging EV technologies and recommend improvements to service processes and tools.

  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards, especially related to high-voltage systems and workshop safety.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering, Auto Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience as an Auto Electrician, with proven experience in EV or hybrid vehicle systems.

  • Strong knowledge of automotive electrical architecture and EV powertrain components
  • Proven ability to work with ERP systems
