Job Summary
The Senior Electrician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. Given the Ethiopian context of fluctuating power stability, this role is critical in ensuring operational continuity through the management of backup systems (generators, UPS) and proactive preventive maintenance. Beyond technical skills, the candidate will use ERP software to log activities and manage electrical inventory efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the installation and maintenance of electrical wiring, control systems, and lighting fixtures according to Ethiopian building and safety standards.
- Utilize the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to document maintenance schedules, log daily electrical performance, and request spare parts from the warehouse.
- Ensure all backup power systems, including high-capacity generators and solar/UPS systems, are in peak condition to mitigate the impact of local power outages.
- Diagnosing and resolving complex electrical issues in industrial machinery or office infrastructure to minimize downtime.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electricians and technicians on-site.
- Enforce strict Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) protocols to prevent electrical hazards and ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
- Monitor the consumption of electrical supplies and provide data-driven reports via the ERP to assist in budget planning.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in electrical maintenance or engineering, preferably in an industrial or large-scale corporate environment.
- Proven ability to work within an ERP system
